Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Reganam Limited ("Reganam", "we", "us" or "our") handles personal data in connection with our website www.leadscrape.com and our desktop software, Lead Scrape. Being clear about what we do and do not collect is important to us, and we have tried to write this policy in plain language. If you have any question about privacy, you can reach us at info [at] leadscrape [dot] com.
Reganam Limited is a company based in Ireland and is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Because we are established in Ireland, we process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection law.
How Lead Scrape works, and what it means for your privacy
Understanding how the software works is the best way to understand our approach to privacy, because Lead Scrape is different from most lead-generation providers: we do not hold a database of businesses or contacts.
When a user runs a search (for example, "Restaurants in Miami, FL"), the Lead Scrape software searches the public web at that moment for matching companies, and then searches for the people working at those companies. For each search it can return company details (such as address, landline phone, website, company email address and social media profiles) and, where they are publicly available, details of people who work there (name, job title, email address and LinkedIn URL). In effect, Lead Scrape works like a specialised search engine over business information that is already publicly available online.
This data is gathered live, at the time the search is made, and is written directly to the user's own computer. Search requests are relayed through our rotating proxies, but we do not store, log or retain the data that a user extracts on our servers. We do not keep a copy of the companies or contacts returned by a search, and we do not build a profile database from them.
Because the information relates to businesses and to people acting in their professional capacity, and is drawn from sources that are already public, our lawful basis for enabling these searches is our and our users' legitimate interest in connecting businesses with one another (see "Legal bases for processing" below).
Information we process
The personal data we handle depends on how you interact with us. The main situations are described below.
a. Visitors to our website
When you visit our website we collect standard analytics and usage information (such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type) using cookies and similar technologies. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads for measurement and advertising, and Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from spam and abuse. We also use a number of additional analytics, advertising and social-media tools. Rather than list every one here, we describe the categories of cookies we use and set out your choices in our Cookie Policy. Please note that some of these tools begin loading as you interact with the site; you can control them through your browser settings, a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, and the choices described in the Cookie Policy.
Google provides more information about how it uses data collected through these services on its page, How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ad Settings, stop your data being used by Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or use the industry opt-out tools at aboutads.info and Your Online Choices.
b. Customers and account holders
When you buy a licence, we collect the information needed to complete the purchase and to issue and manage your licence: your name, email address, company name (if provided), billing address, transaction reference, the amount paid, the product purchased, and the licence key we generate for you. Payments are handled by our payment providers (see "Third parties who process data for us"); we do not store your card details.
c. Free-trial users
When you request a free trial, we collect your name and email address, and an approximate location (city and country) derived from your IP address, which we pass to our customer-management systems so we can send you the trial and support information.
d. Licensing and anti-piracy information
To enforce our licence terms (each licence may be used on two computers) and to prevent abuse, the software sends us your licence key, a machine identifier generated by the application, a session identifier and your IP address when it activates and periodically while in use. We use this information only to manage licences and detect misuse.
e. Data returned by a search
As explained above, the company and contact details returned by a search are gathered from public sources and delivered to the user's computer. We do not retain this data. A user who extracts it does so as an independent controller of that data and is responsible for using it lawfully, in accordance with our Terms of Service and applicable data protection and anti-spam laws.
Legal bases for processing
Under the GDPR we rely on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests – to operate Lead Scrape as a search tool over publicly available business information, and to keep our website secure and understand how it is used.
- Performance of a contract – to provide, activate and support the software and your licence when you become a customer.
- Consent – for optional marketing communications, our newsletter, and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Legal obligation – where we must keep records (for example, for tax and accounting).
Third parties who process data for us
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run our business. They process personal data on our behalf, and only as needed to provide their service:
- Payments: PayPal and Paddle. Paddle acts as merchant of record for certain regions and processes card and billing information directly; we receive only the details needed to fulfil your order.
- Fraud prevention: at checkout, your IP address may be checked against services (such as ipify, BigDataCloud and vpnapi.io) to help detect fraudulent or high-risk transactions.
- Customer management and automation: Make.com and our own automation service, which pass order and trial details to downstream tools such as Pipedrive, Vbout and QuickBooks for CRM and accounting.
- Analytics and advertising: the providers listed in our Cookie Policy.
- Hosting: our website is hosted on servers located in the United States.
We enter into appropriate data-processing terms with these providers and share only the data necessary for the service concerned.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell or rent your personal data for money or any other valuable consideration. We do, however, use advertising and analytics cookies on our website, and disclosing information to advertising partners in this way may be considered "sharing" for targeted advertising under some United States state privacy laws. You can opt out of this at any time using a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, your browser and cookie settings, and the options in our Cookie Policy. See also "Your privacy rights in the United States" below.
Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- to access the personal data we hold about you and be told how we process it;
- to have inaccurate or incomplete data rectified;
- to have your data erased in certain circumstances;
- to restrict our processing in certain circumstances;
- to receive your data in a portable format (data portability);
- to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to object to direct marketing at any time;
- to withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To make a request, including to have your details removed, please use our removal form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. As we are established in Ireland, our lead supervisory authority is the Irish Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie).
Removing your details (right of erasure and opt-out)
Because Lead Scrape searches information that is already public on the web, the most effective way to have your details removed at source is to remove or update them on the websites where they appear; once information is no longer public, Lead Scrape will not find it.
If you would like your details excluded from Lead Scrape results even while they remain public elsewhere, you can ask us directly. Use our removal form here. When you submit a request, your email address is added to a suppression list, which is distributed to the software. The software then filters any matching record out of search results before they are shown, so people who have opted out are not returned to users. This is free and does not require you to create an account. We also honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for advertising on our website.
Your privacy rights in the United States
If you are a resident of a United States state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal data we process, to access or delete it, to correct inaccuracies, and to opt out of the sale of personal data and of processing for targeted advertising. As stated above, we do not sell personal data for money or other valuable consideration. Our website does use advertising cookies that may be treated as "sharing" for targeted advertising under some of these laws; you can opt out using a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, your browser and cookie settings, or our Cookie Policy. To exercise these rights, please use our removal form. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
International data transfers
Reganam Limited is established in Ireland, but our website is hosted on servers in the United States, and some of our service providers (for example, analytics and payment providers) also process personal data outside the EEA. This means that personal data we collect, including that of visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, is transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those in your own country. Where we make such transfers, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your data.
How long we keep data
We keep customer and account data for as long as you have a relationship with us and for as long afterwards as we are required to for legal, tax and accounting purposes. Trial and enquiry data is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. Entries on our suppression list are kept for as long as necessary to continue honouring your opt-out. We do not retain the company or contact data returned by a search.
Children
Lead Scrape is a business tool intended for professional use. Our website and software are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, however, so while we work to protect your data we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use Google reCAPTCHA on our website to protect forms from spam and automated abuse. When you interact with a reCAPTCHA-protected form, information such as your IP address, browser type, device data, and interaction behaviour may be collected and sent to Google for analysis to determine whether the request is from a human or a bot. We are the data controller for this information, and Google processes it on our behalf solely for the purpose of providing, maintaining, and securing the reCAPTCHA service. This data is not used by Google for any other purpose, including advertising. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for functionality, analytics, advertising and security. For a description of the categories of cookies we use, the providers involved, and how to manage or disable them, please see our Cookie Policy.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of substantial changes either by posting a prominent notice on our website or, where appropriate, by emailing the address associated with your account. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the Policy was most recently revised.
Anti-spam policy
Lead Scrape has a strong anti-spam policy. Our software cannot be used to send spam; it is a tool for finding and managing business data only. We do not support spamming, and we cannot be held responsible for any misuse of our software for spamming or any other illegal activity. Please report spam activity to http://abuse.net/.
It is the responsibility of the end user to ensure that all data and information provided by Lead Scrape is used in compliance with the relevant local and international data protection and privacy regulations. Misuse of our software or its data for spamming or any other illegal activity is not supported by Lead Scrape or Reganam Limited, and we cannot be held liable for such actions.
